Jon has been involved in issues of workplace inclusion for the past 30 years. His work has included managing a healthcare manufacturing company, serving as the director of two non-government organizations, developing and managing a government diversity program, and maintaining a consultancy dedicated to improving opportunities for people with disabilities and others.
Of particular note has been Jon’s ability to deliver measurable success in a wide range of projects. These have included the development of strategies and processes that have increased the representation rates of employees with disabilities, enhanced the awareness of equity issues within general employee populations, and improved quality of life measurements for a variety of groups.
Jon’s community work has included serving as the chair of the Yukon Human Rights Commission and several non-profit organizations. He has also provided volunteer counselling services for individuals with acquired disabilities. In January, 2013, Jon was awarded the Queen Elizabeth 11 Golden Jubilee Medal for his community work.
